• The IFIP Technical Committee on Human-Computer Interaction announced winners of the Pioneer in Human-Computer Interaction Awards. These pioneers are appointed based on their outstanding contributions to the field of human-computer interaction. Australians Geraldine Fitzpatrick and Helen Petrie were both recognised with awards.
  • In May next year, the IFIP Working Group on Information Security Education will hold its 13th World Conference on Information Security Education (WISE13) in Slovenia. The group is calling for papers to be delivered at the conference on the theme ‘Information Security in Action’. For more information, head to the WISE13 website.
  • The Royal Dutch Society for Computer and Information Professionals has published a book titled ‘Multidisciplinary Aspects of Blockchain’. Focusing on the social, technical and legal aspects of blockchain, the book covers a unique set of perspectives about this potentially world-changing technology.   • Last month, the 18th IFIP conference on e-Business, e-Services and e-Society was held in Norway. More than 120 people saw papers delivered on this year’s theme of ‘digital transformation for a sustainable society in the 21st century’. Next year’s conference will be held in South Africa.
