• Don Gotterbarn has won the 2021 David O’Leary Award for his contribution to ICT professionalism. Don has spent decades as a leading figure in computer ethics and is a director of the Software Engineering Ethics Research Institute at East Tennessee State University. He will be given a cash prize of US$1,000 and will be funded travel to the IFIP 2022 General Assembly.
  • IFIP has published its second book celebrating the organisation’s 60th anniversary. The free ebook titled ‘Advancing Research in Information and Communication Technology - IFIP's Exciting First 60+ Years, Views from the Technical Committees and Working Groups’ is available at IFIP’s Open Digital Library.
  • Former ACS President Anthony Wong has been appointed as IFIP’s new president and will take office in 2022. Wong is the second Australian to be IFIP President in its 60-year history. IFIP’s new Vice President will be South African Moira de Roche.
  • The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is co-publishing a new journal, Collective Intelligence. The peer reviewed journal focuses on research about understanding collective performance across a range of topics including computer networks, nanobot swarms, and artificial intelligence.
