• The Australian Computer Society (ACS) hosted the IFIP Strategy Day and Board Meeting in its Sydney offices on April 13-14. The day explored a wide range of strategic sessions including the development of a new IFIP website, creating an ecosystem to support the work of Technical Committees, Working Groups and Domain Committees, and enhancing internal member and external stakeholder engagements.
  • IFIP board members were welcomed to speak at an ACS Think Tank event during the Strategy Day. The panel explored the five challenges for global governance and professionalism: cyber security, data privacy, the digital divide, ethics and IT professionalism brought about by the emergence of worldwide digital transformation.
  • BCS, Britain’s Chartered Institute for IT, has said using digital technology, including AI in the classroom, should be prominent in initial teacher training and national professional qualifications for school leaders. It suggests these measures will help teachers use AI tools and other packages for lesson planning, creating worksheets, and marking – and to better understand how students are using AI at home.
