Do you want the opportunity to shape the ICT strategy of the peak body for the ICT profession in Australia? Are you a thought leader in your field, who has operated at SFIA Level 7?

If so, ACS would be delighted to hear from you as it seeks candidates to participate on the Digital Enablement Standing Committee (DESC).

As the professional association for Australia’s information and communications technology (ICT) sector, the ACS is passionate about the ICT profession being recognised as a driver of innovation, and business – able to deliver real, tangible outcomes.

Nominations are now open for two positions on DESC.

The Digital Enablement Standing Committee is charged with advising the ACS Management Committee (MC) on ICT strategy for the society.

Nominations must be from ACS members who are members of Congress, members of a Branch Executive Committee or a member of the ACS Professional Division.

If you have any questions regarding the role of DESC, please contact Mai Tran at

ACS boards and committees generally meet four to five times per year, typically via videoconference, with one or two meetings conducted face-to-face (although currently meetings are conducted via video only during COVID-19). In addition to lending their expertise to discussions in meetings, committee members are also expected to contribute to the establishment and review of advisory papers.

New successful board and committee members are required to complete an induction, including the understanding of ACS Rules & Regulations, Governance and Organisational Structures.

The terms for all positions are from the date of appointment until 31 December 2021, but with the possibility of extension with the approval of MC.
