Dr Maria Milosavljevic, chair of the ACS Cyber Security Committee, has moved into the role of Chief Information Security Officer at Services Australia.
Previously, Dr Milosavljevic was the inaugural Chief Data Officer of the organisation, a position she held for just over two years,
“I’m very excited to say that on Monday I will be assuming the role of CISO for Services Australia,” Dr Milosavljevic wrote on LinkedIn.
“I will once again combine my passions for security, intelligence, risk and data.”
ACS President Dr Ian Oppermann congratulated Dr Milosavljevic on her appointment.
“Being offered the role as Chief Information and Security Officer is a ringing endorsement of Maria’s experience and capability, as well as the significant work she has done as Chief Data Officer for the Department.
“I am also proud to say that Maria has chaired the ACS’s Technical Committee on Cyber Security since its inception in 2018, bringing her wealth of knowledge experience to the activities of the Committee.”
In addition to her work at Services Australia, Dr Milosavljevic is an Honorary Professor in Artificial Intelligence at the Australian National University, the Chair of the Data Champions Executive in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and is a member of the AI Advisory Committee in the NSW Department of Customer Service.
Dr Milosavljevic established the Data and Analytics Division at Service Australia and now leaves it in the hands of Garrett McDonald.
Services Australia is responsible for delivering Medicare, Centrelink and Child Support services.
