The ACS South Australia branch is sad to announce Kenn Dolan, FACS, passed away over the Easter weekend, aged 56.
Kenn was an active member of the ACS in SA where he served on the SA Branch Fellows Committee for a number of years and was instrumental in setting up the South Australian Emerging Professional of the Year Award, along with its continuing sponsorship by Hays.
Kenn was also a Fellow of the Project Management Institute. He authored a book called ‘Implementing Project and Program Benefit Management: Best Practices in Portfolio, Program, and Project Management’, which focussed on benefits management and how to ensure change is effective.
As a proud graduate of Imperial College London, and as a Qualified Civil Engineer with a love of bridges, Kenn often spoke about his dream of authoring another book entitled ‘Sexy Bridges!’.
For 18 years, Kenn was the Managing Director of FPMS, an AQTF Registered Education Organisation, which provided Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diplomas in Project Management.
During this time, he was also the Lead Project Management Tutor for the ACS Education CP Program.
Kenn also shared his experience and knowledge with ACS and PMI Members as a regular speaker at the IT Project Management Special Interest Group.
Allan Baird, FACS CP, recently paid tribute to Kenn’s professionalism.
“Kenn was a consummate professional who freely offered his considered opinions and was a patient and keen listener.
"He will be missed in the large global community who valued his immense contributions to the IT profession, especially in South Australia, where lead project management was the greatest beneficiary of his prodigious talent.
"On a personal note, I enjoyed discussions on our shared passions of stakeholder engagement and benefits realisation.
Vale Kenn Dolan, you were one of a kind.”
Kenn is survived by his wife, Jo Adams, and two sons.
