ACS is putting scale-ups centre stage as part of a new television series to find Australia’s best new scalable tech platform.
The fast-paced show, RiverPitch, will feature eight entrepreneurs each from New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
The 24 candidates will then battle it out for a $20,000 prize, including business mentoring and a mission to one of the world’s leading technology hubs.
“There are so many Aussies building new technologies that are capable of changing the world,” said ACS CEO Andrew Johnson. “We are excited to share their stories.”
Unlike a start-up, a scale-up is a business which is already established and seeking to expand.
RiverPitch is a television concept based on a program developed at River City Labs, which was acquired by ACS in 2018 from well-known entrepreneur and investor, Steve Baxter.

Three judges will determine who moves to the next round, and ultimately who wins. The judges are ACS President Yohan Ramasundara, ACS CEO Andrew Johnson, and COO of fintech HashChing, Siobhan Hayden.
Contestants will work with experienced business leaders Steve Baxter, Peter James and Sheona Devin as mentors.
“Australian talent is equal to the best in the world,” said Baxter. “RiverPitch will allow talented driven teams to shine. Bring it on.”
To be part of RiverPitch, entrepreneurs need their business to be registered and operate in Australia, ensure their product is a unique offering in the market, and have a demonstrated capability of scaling the product internationally.
RiverPitch will screen on Your Money from Tuesday next week at 7.30pm.
