International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

The IFIP 60th Anniversary is a cause for celebration, featuring and showcasing the contributions and diversity of works of IFIP, member societies, our many technical committees and working groups, the International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3), Young IT Professionals (YIT) and other committees to governments, industries, international bodies – including United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the United Nations (UN) – and to the world at large.

IFIP was established under the auspices of UNESCO and holds consultative status with UNESCO.

The IFIP 60th Events Coordination Committee (“#ifip60 Committee”), created and appointed in February this year, is chaired by former ACS president Anthony Wong, now IFIP vice-president.

In May, IFIP announced a call for proposals for 10 virtual events to debate and discuss issues at the intersection of technology and the information society, aligning with the concept and selection criteria in: https://nextcloud.gi.de/s/TxoAeXB7et9FjRY.

The “IFIP 60th Anniversary Future of Information Processing Series”, which forms part of the #ifip60 celebrations of events around the world, will be free and open to the public.

The events will take place between August and December 2021.

At its recent meeting in June, the #ifip60 Committee reviewed the expressions of interest and short-listed ten virtual events.

The upcoming “IFIP Future of Information Processing Series” includes:
