The Australian Computer Society (ACS) is inviting expressions of interest for three newly established committees under the auspices of the Professional Standards Board (PSB).


Australian Honours Reference Group (AHRG)

The Australian Honours Reference Group (AHRG) will play a vital role in promoting and championing the outstanding contributions of ACS members to the ICT profession, ensuring they are acknowledged through the prestigious Australian Honours system and within the broader community.

For the AHRG, we are particularly interested in hearing from members who:

  • are currently engaged in ICT practice; and
  • have previous or current experience serving on honours or awards committees.

This is an exciting opportunity to support and elevate the standing of ICT professionals across Australia.

Small to Medium Professional Business Committee (SMPBC)

The Small to Medium Professional Business Committee (SMPBC) will work to promote the professionalism of ACS Member Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and to establish trust in the ICT profession.

For the SMPBC we are particularly interested in hearing from members who:

  • are currently engaged in ICT practice; and
  • are running or working in an SME of no more than 25 staff.

Vocational Education and Training Committee (VETC)

The Vocational Education and Training Committee (VETC) will provide strategic advice on the development and implementation of ACS's VET-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with industry needs and emerging technologies.

For the VETC we are particularly interested in hearing from members who:

  • are currently engaged in ICT practice and/or teaching
  • can advise on the quality and standards of VET programs, including content and delivery models; and
  • can assist in fostering collaboration between ACS, VET providers, and industry stakeholders
