Welcome to Part 10 of our RoboCup Highlights Reel series bringing you all the best bits from RoboCup 2019 in Sydney.
Carologistics won the title of world champion in RoboCup 2019’s Logistics League.
Consisting of members from Aachen University in Germany, Carologistics has pushed the boundaries of factory automation since it joined RoboCup in 2012.
Sebastian Eltester is an electrical engineering student at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. He still marvels at the way robots interact with the world.
“For a human it’s pretty natural to just see something and grab it, but for a robot you have to teach it what it sees and then how to grab it,” Sebastian said.
“That’s like magic to me.”
Sebastian’s ambitions show how excited he is for the future.
“The really big goal I have is to become an astronaut and be one of the first humans on Mars,” Sebastian said.
“I guess that’s a bit far-fetched, so for the near future I will be working at my university on a research project about this League.
“Afterwards, I’ll see about getting on Mars.”
ACS was the STEM Champion sponsor of RoboCup 2019.
