Anthony Ellard, an ACS veteran of more than 20 years and the society’s governance officer, has been inducted into the Associations Hall of Fame for his service to associations.
Awarded the honour in Melbourne on Thursday, Ellard was one of 10 individuals to be inducted by member-based training and education network the Assocations Forum.
Ellard joined ACS as an assessment officer in 2001 before becoming the society’s membership program manager in 2007, responsible for the products and services offered to ACS members.
He became ACS’s business development manager in 2017 and even spent time working with the society’s IT team.
Ellard then became ACS’s governance officer in 2020, managing the society’s governance structures including its Management Committee and Congress.
“I’ve had probably four careers within ACS,” Ellard told Information Age.
“I’m not just doing the same job day-in-day-out — I’ve actually grown and developed my career with ACS, which resulted in this award.”
John Peacock AM, chief executive officer of Associations Forum, said the organisation’s 2024 Association Awards were “a celebration of the substantial achievements of many associations as demonstrated by the high standard of all nominations received this year".
Outside of his work with ACS, Ellard was in September elected a councillor for the City of Parramatta representing Dundas Ward.
