Stephen Palmai

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Areas of expertise: Cloud security, software development, database development, network architecture, cybersecurity analysis and vulnerability management. I also have an interest in digital forensics, plus business administration experience.

Years of experience: 15 + years

Type of role I’m looking for: Manager of a small team. Also happy to work alone on classified or sensitive projects.

Work schedule: Full-time, part-time, contract, hybrid and remote. I am flexible to travel interstate and overseas on projects. Australian born with Australian/EU dual national and permanent EU resident.

What do you like about working in tech: What I like is deep diving into new areas of learning and change management. The industry is constantly evolving and presents new paradigm disrupters every five years or so.

I am excited to work across the AI-cyber era and beyond screen-based user interfaces. AI is increasingly being used in cyber related areas such as code, scripting and analysis.

The ICT industry will evolve into the post-quantum encryption age. This next disruptor will be the most challenging the industry is yet to face, and organisations should now begin factoring those emerging risk profiles into their GRC programmes. This is a challenge I am looking forward to working across.

Best career advice I’ve ever received: Do what you love, help make a difference in your capacity, or do something new.

Go to your strengths, work where your values are aligned with an organisation’s culture. My drivers are conservatively profit and risk centric. I believe businesses should not become distracted from those two primary objectives. Social, political, and environmental distractions are fluctuating external pressures that must be justified through effective risk management.

Why you should hire me: I focus on the tasks at hand but in return expect a fair and flexible work-life balance. I maintain the initiative to learn and develop to achieve broader organisational objectives.

Also, I know what it is like to run a business. I was the co-owner of a small IT company, and as an independent software vendor (ISV), I understand what it takes to build a receivables management solution that included membership management, licensing compliance, and customer loyalty.

Merry Christina

Location: Gold Coast, QLD

Areas of expertise: Sales and marketing, account project management, cybersecurity.

Years of experience: 10+ years

Type of role I’m looking for: Cybersecurity leadership or cyber business analyst.

Work schedule: Open to full-time or hybrid or contract.

What do you like about working in tech: Technology is one of the amazing areas that promotes creativity, innovation, continuous learning and growth in today’s fast-paced world.

Best career advice I’ve ever received: Dream big. I always encouraged my sales team to set their sales target higher by 10 per cent of actual sales target. Missing the actual target still satisfied the overall sales performance. It meant that every salesperson would achieve their target. Dreams do come true. When it is accomplished, set new ones – bigger and higher!

Why you should hire me: I bring a combination of relevant experience and skills, as a result-driven mindset, and a strong commitment to continuous growth.

I have a proven track record in hospitality security industry, particularly in achieving sales target and dealing with senior management and stakeholders, which directly align with the company’s objectives.

I am proactive, adaptable and thrive in fast-paced environment. I have strong skills in managing the use of technology and mitigating risks with a focus on human and leadership.

Most importantly, I am also looking to contribute to your team, to add value and grow with your organisation.

Can I add, in the cybersecurity industry, women are still underrepresented. With my combined skills and expertise, I can help organisation bridge the gap and add value to women in cybersecurity in Australia.

Moin Sayed

Location: Melbourne, Victoria

Areas of expertise: Application support, technical support

Years of experience: 10 years of experience, including 4 years in the Australian IT industry and 6 years internationally.

Type of role I’m looking for: Application support engineer, or a managerial position guiding a dynamic small team where I can apply my technical expertise and leadership skills to foster innovation and enhance performance.

Work schedule: Full-time, remote or hybrid.

What do you like about working in tech: I love how technology is always changing. It keeps me engaged and eager to learn. What I find most thrilling is the challenge of solving problems. Whether it's ensuring system security, designing intuitive interfaces, or resolving intricate network challenges.

Also, I take great satisfaction in making technology function smoothly for everyone. Being able to develop effective solutions that enhance efficiency or security is truly fulfilling.

Best career advice I’ve ever received: “Be the bridge between technology and people.” While technical expertise is crucial, the true impact comes from translating complex concepts into clear, actionable solutions that empower users, teams and stakeholders.

Why you should hire me: I have more than a decade of experience in application support, web development, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure and I offer a strong blend of technical skills and leadership.

I have successfully led and worked alongside various teams, provided impactful solutions and prioritised customer satisfaction. Beyond my technical abilities, I understand business requirements and I can guide a team to achieve outstanding results.
